Don’t know where you are, but here they’re essentially non-existent. Mitsubishi dealer in Brooklyn runs ads all the time about how they have more used Infinitis than most Infiniti dealers - they’ve reinvented themselves. Saw a few more Mitsus when in Maryland last month, but still thin on the ground.

Mitsubishi still sells cars in the market space where FCA plays. You just don’t see them in a place where cars are expensive to own and therefore the entire bottom half or more of the market doesn’t own cars.

It is such a pain in the ass to keep a car here - either garage it or play the let’s move the car every other day game because of the opposite side of the street rules ... there are lots of old cars around here, owned by regular folks, that are moved all over the west 70s. A couple Continental LSCs, a 7 series (Volvo) wagon, a Peugeot wagon ... if you go back in my DOTS posts they’re all there. There’s also a 1st gen Boxster that’s in rough shape that’s usually on W 71st.

What are the odds they would come up twice on the same day here? Lol, they must be doing something right.

I see boatloads of Mitsubishis floating around here, but they seem to be slowly being replaced by upmarket versions or Subaru Outbacks.

Yes, that dealership ... and how did they find a white guy who can rap? First one I’ve seen.

Mitsubishi, through their own dealers and Dodge dealers, used to sell a shit ton of cars. Now? Is the product that inferior to Toyota, Honda, or Nissan? I have no idea. You’d think they’d make an effort.

Last time I was in Williamsburg I saw lots of white people with dreadlocks, and I smelled a lot of clove cigarettes. And this is the ad I get pitched on more than a few YouTube videos:

Mitsubishi marketing only sees the Outlander as the future. The Mirage got a bad rap for being a crappy car so they axed that, but it could have been easily solved if they had ponied up for a bigger motor instead of whatever they tacked onto the transmission in the Mirage. I get that thing was supposed to be basic transport, but we’re not living in the 1990s where a Geo Metro is passable for interstate use because everyone else is almost as slow as you.

Suzuki had a nice lineup of basic cars that should have won over the market. Mitsubishi, not so much. But I have no doubt that they could build a Camry competitor and sell it cheap. But they didn’t ... why did they give up?

IDK. Are white folks allowed in Bedstuy? He might have picked it up there.

Someone in Mitsubishi’s marketing saw the future as only crossovers, it appears they’re right... for now.
